@prayalundberg : COVID - 19 has caused a devastating effect on the tourism industry all across the world. Thailand has been hit extremely hard as we rely heavily on millions of tourists visiting all year round. Many elephant and humane wildlife sanctuary’s are unable to feed and care for their animals because there are no visitors to provide income to the local villagers but also no donations related to wildlife conservation during this difficult time. @elephantpridesanctuary is home to many rehabilitated and rescued elephants like DIDO here. They have been saved from atrocities and they are gentle, kind and loving creatures. They DESERVE to be protected even during our most difficult times. I’ve visited here many times and not once did the owner or villagers ask for anything but to help them share messages of conservation and to help protect these animals. I couldn’t believe that even during all this he didn’t text me to ask me to help but I had to find out from someone who told me they are in trouble 😔 The owner has a heart of gold and so do all the caretakers. I admire and love how you treat the elephants and meeting and spending time with them was a magical and humbling experience. We have the power to save this planet whether it’s humanity or the beautiful creatures who we share it with. It’s up to us to make the right actions.
